Grade 12 Projects – 2020

The cancellation of Diploma examinations presented the unexpected opportunity for the G12 students to demonstrate their readiness for learning and working independently in a creative and collaborative manner rather than by the traditional academic means.

For the last three weeks of their secondary school life, they worked in small groups on projects that reflected their own interests and skills.

The projects were: an advice booklet, an animated history video, an Art mural (on the school roof), Cartoon Tinder, Cooking for Dummies, a Covid film, Fitness Fun, a gardening project, a Leipzig film, LIS in Minecraft, podcasts, an audio book and an anatomical colouring book. The results of these projects have been impressive and entertaining and are a great legacy for future G12 students to live up to.

Their final weeks of school were all the more memorable because of the 100% participation and their positive response to the challenge that was put before them. This cohort sent us a clear signal that they have the maturity to cope with whatever comes their way in the future.

The staff here at LIS are not only impressed with what they have achieved but proud of them for completing their time here on such an amazingly creative note.
