Happy Birthday LIS Parent Association

Our democratically elected Parent Association came into action in August 2019. We are very lucky to have this team of active parents working together to strengthen the LIS community.

In this past year they have worked hard to create a spirit of participation and action among our parents as well as outline exactly what their mission at our school is. In this time they have also established committees for different interests.

We now have a Welcome Committee – to welcome all new families to the school and organise getting-to-know-you events at the beginning of the school year.

The LIS Parents Sports Club aims to create a space for parents and teachers to have fun by building a sporting community that creates camaraderie between our members and introduces our children to the enjoyment that sport can offer, within an environment of fair play.

Perhaps best known is the PA’s work in the School Garden with their weekly garden work out, Farmer’s Markets, yoga in the garden and other activities in our green classroom.

The next PA meeting is on the 23 September. Join us at 19:00 in the teachers lounge on the ground floor of the school building.

Through much work-shopping and discussion at previous meetings the team presented the following Mission Statements to guide their work at LIS:
