Leipzig International School has a tradition for excellent drama productions - having staged a plethora of challenging, innovative and classical theatrical events. Performances are showcased in one major Drama production in Secondary School which the school holds each year, as well as other productions showing wonderful creativity and the abilities of Primary School students.

Drama promotes personal and interpersonal skills, supports self-confidence, individual growth and trust resulting in valuable life and professional skills. LIS students increase their knowledge appreciation for the dramatic arts as performers and informed audience members. A variety of performance opportunities are available throughout the school-year in classroom and extra-curricular contexts.

Major productions involve the talents of students’ right across the school. These have included shows as diverse as Claire Dowie's “Adult Child, Dead Child”, Oscar Wilde's “The Importance of Being Earnest”, George Dibden-Pitt’s “Sweeney Todd” right through to Christopher Hampton's “Les Liaisons Dangereuses”, and Bertolt Brecht’s “Mother Courage and her Children”.
