Learning to be a citizen of the world

Leipzig International School offers a high quality education, conducted predominantly in English, from Nursery through Grade 12. When their time at LIS comes to an end, students are prepared for entry into universities or professional training in Germany and throughout the world. As a community of children, students, educational practitioners and families, we value and emphasise international experiences.

The Leipzig International Kindergarten with its Nursery and Early Years programmes, the Primary School with its International Primary Curriculum, and the Secondary School with the Cambridge Secondary Programme prepare students for higher education: the Diploma offered by the International Baccalaureate (IB). LIS is the only provider of this fully international educational experience in Leipzig.

Our after-school programme (Hort) is open to primary school students every day from 7:00 until 17:00. This is covered by school fees - there are no additional costs.
Through our school’s cooperation with qualified substitute teachers, we also ensure there are no cancelled classes and that all lessons are guaranteed.

We want our students to grow into smart, confident and responsible young people, so we consistently provide them with opportunities to practice teamwork and leadership at school. In our international community, students learn respect for other cultures and traditions and develop an appreciation of the value of diversity. There are special project days and events throughout the year, which are often celebrations of diversity.
Parents are kept regularly informed about their child’s learning and progress at LIS.
Leipzig International School focuses on developing students’ individual skills through a clear, curriculum-based structure. It is our aim to lead students to academic outcomes that open the doors to their institute of higher education of choice.

The school is divided into three sections, with student support services spread across all three sections.
