Educational Elements

Since October 2018 we have been working on the idea to turn our school garden into a learning space which gives our students the chance to study lots of different topics in a natural, inspiring environment.

We are very happy that most of our educational elements in the garden are developed, designed, built and looked after together with students and parents from the LIS community.

So far you can find the following sections in our garden:

  • Recycled and salvaged materials used throughout demonstrate creative reuse: plastic bottle storage shed, woodwork playground, plant signs
  • Wildlife habitat featuring native plants, bee drinking station, many feeders and birdhouses
  • Pollination garden/'Bienenwiese' which features annual and perennial plants
  • Garden to Go with a variety of work sheets to take away (CAS project)
  • Garden Library - Garden related Books in our School Library
  • Vegetable row crop field for growing food crops
  • Benches & tables for learning or picnicking
  • Fruiting trees, berries and vines
  • Tool shed and storage area
