We are delighted to report the performance of our Class of 2024 in their IB Diploma assessments. This year saw the largest cohort in the school’s history gaining an 80% Diploma pass-rate.
Being an inclusive school that places great confidence in the IB Diploma Programme and its educational value for students of all abilities and interests, an 80% passing rate is exceptionally good, and in the best handful of outcomes in the school’s history. Not only was this the largest IBDP cohort yet, but also the largest year group to graduate, with all students taking the final Diploma.
There were some truly exceptional personal performances at all levels of the points’ spectrum, with 44% of our students gaining 30+ points (a German Abitur 3.0), and 17% gaining 36+ points (a German Abitur 2.0). Three students gained the globally accepted standard of excellence in achieving 40+ points, with Clara Winne and Tina Woltersdorf top-scoring with 42 points (of a maximum total of 45) – this would convert to a German 1.0. Our warmest congratulations to these and all of our students, whose commitment to their learning has brought them just deserts.
Our commitment to inclusion has led to an increased number of our students gaining access to a fabulous IBDP education while maintaining our pass-rates and our points’ averages, this year, like last, with a 32-point average score. For this, I extend my thanks and appreciation to all teachers and parents, without whose expertise in the former case and support in the latter none of this would have been possible.
I wish everyone a wonderful summer and our graduating students luck and success with the next steps of their learning journeys.
