As the year came to a close, the LIS community once again gathered to celebrate the Christmas season through our much-loved Christmas concert. This year’s event was particularly special, taking place in a new venue: the LIS Gym, which proved to be a wonderful setting for the concert. The evenings were further complemented by a wonderful winter market in the school yard.
Under the direction of Ms Annie Hedenig and Mr Paul Foulkes, students from across the school presented a varied and festive programme. Primary students performed a lively mix of seasonal songs, from well-known Christmas classics to seasonal favourites from across cultures.
The Secondary Show brought a wonderful burst of energy to the stage, with students performing with confidence, energy and genuine enthusiasm. Each song reflected not only musical skill, but also strong preparation, teamwork and pride in the final result.
Beyond the outstanding performances, these concerts offer far more than a moment on stage. They provide valuable opportunities for students to grow in confidence, develop resilience, and experience the rewards of dedication and regular practice. Students also learn from one another through rehearsals and shared performances, building a strong sense of collaboration and mutual support. Importantly, events like this strengthen connections across year groups, as younger and older students come together through music, creating a vibrant and inclusive community spirit.

We are also deeply grateful to our teaching staff, school leadership and administration for the time and care that went into organising the event, as well as to our parents and volunteers for their support. A special mention goes to the technical crew, the marketing & communications team and our Hausmeister-Team for their outstanding help behind the scenes.
Most of all, thank you to our students – your commitment, enthusiasm and joy on stage made this year’s Winter Shows such a wonderful success.
