At Leipzig International School, the school day doesn’t end when lessons are over. Our Hort programme is a vibrant and much-loved part of daily life, offering children space to unwind, explore their interests and build friendships in a supportive environment. This week in our Game Room was a perfect example of what makes our LIS Hort so special.
Throughout the week, the Game Room turned into a lively space filled with shared challenges and happy voices. Students took part in a variety of activities; from board games and strategy challenges to creative group games that encouraged collaboration and quick thinking. Whether playing and building together, solving puzzles or simply enjoying time with friends, every child found something that sparked joy.
What makes our afternoon programme special is not just the range of activities, but the atmosphere. Our dedicated Hort educators play an essential role in creating this atmosphere. They guide and support the children while encouraging independence and positive social interaction. In this safe and welcoming space, students strengthen their confidence, resilience and social skills – often without even realising how much they are learning along the way.
The Game Room is just one part of our wide range of afternoon activities. As part of our all-day programme, included in the school fees from 7:00 am to 17:00, students can take part in robotics, arts, sports, drama and many other activities. Families can rely on consistent, high-quality care and a structured programme that enriches each child’s day. The six theme-based spaces are: Outside, Creative, Construction, Game, Active and Quiet.
The LIS Morning Hort is available from 7:00 each day. Educators welcome our children and provide supervised, observed and guided outside play in the playground area.
Afternoon Hort begins each day after school and ends at 17:00. It features an open concept, where educators provide six differentiated learning areas, allowing our learners the freedom to choose topic-of-play and setting as well as companions. No additional fees apply for our Hort programmes.
