The LIS Hort is a very special place – a place where children feel comfortable, supported and free to be themselves. This year’s Winter Holiday Hort was another wonderful example of how much care, creativity and effort our Hort team puts into their work.
The week was held under the theme “The Beauty of the Winter Season.” As if on cue, we were lucky to have fresh snowfall right at the beginning. The snowy landscape was the perfect setting for a winter walk together. Wrapped up warmly, the children explored the surroundings, enjoyed the fresh air and simply had fun being outside in the snow.
Afterwards, everyone warmed up with stick bread and hot chocolate. Sitting together by the fire, baking bread and chatting, created a cozy and relaxed atmosphere. It was one of those simple moments that make a holiday week feel special.
Team Spirit at the Winter Olympics
A real highlight was our Winter Olympics. In various disciplines, the children demonstrated their skills, team spirit and endurance. What stood out most was how they encouraged one another and showed great team spirit. There was lots of laughter, cheering, and fair play throughout the games.
At the end, we celebrated with a small award ceremony in true Olympic style. Every child was recognised for taking part and there were many proud smiles.
A Colorful Carnival Celebration
The carnival party brought even more excitement to the week. With creative costumes, music, games and dancing, the Hort was filled with colour and energy. The children clearly enjoyed dressing up and celebrating together.
A Perfect Ending at Leo’s
To finish the week off, we visited Leo’s indoor playground. Climbing, sliding and playing together one last time was a great way to end such an active and varied week.

We are very grateful for the positive and caring environment they create every day. The Winter Holiday Hort was a great success and most importantly, the children had a fantastic time.
