Our first International Day in this new format was a truly unforgettable celebration of the rich diversity that makes our LIS community so special.
Throughout the day, families from around the world shared their cultures, traditions and cuisines, transforming our campus into a vibrant showcase of global perspectives. The colorful stalls, delicious food, lively music and warm conversations created an atmosphere of joy, curiosity and connection.
A particular highlight was the wonderful stage program. Students from our Kindergarten, Primary and Secondary School, alongside parents and community members, delighted the audience with performances that celebrated cultures from across the globe. Their enthusiasm, creativity and talent reflected the international spirit that lies at the heart of LIS.
What made the day especially meaningful was the strong sense of belonging and togetherness that could be felt throughout the event. From setting up stalls and organizing activities to performing, volunteering and helping with the clean-up afterward, countless members of our community contributed their time, energy and passion. The willingness of so many people to lend a hand demonstrated the values that define LIS: respect, collaboration and a shared commitment to one another.
A heartfelt thank you goes to everyone who helped bring this event to life. In particular, we would like to recognize Mrs. Jana Giesting, Chair of our Parent Association, whose vision and initiative inspired the creation of this wonderful event. We are equally grateful to our families, students, staff, volunteers, the Student Council and everyone who contributed their time, energy and enthusiasm throughout the day.
Special thanks go to Ms. Anni, Ms. Flanagan and Mr. Foulkes for their dedication and hard work in creating such an outstanding stage program that showcased the talent, creativity and cultural richness of our community.
This may have been our first International Day in this format, but it certainly will not be our last. We are already looking forward to celebrating together again.
