From the 3rd to 6th of September our Grade 7s are on the annual field trip to Vysoká Lípa in the Czech Republic.
It is organized every year in association with Outward Bound International whose motto is: to help people discover and develop their potential to care for themselves, others and the world around them through challenging experiences in unfamiliar settings”.
In the next few days we are going to give a daily update of what the kids have been up to. So watch this space!
DAY 3
For the third day, 5th September, the groups rotated activities so everyone gets a chance to hike, climb and explore the water ways.
In their down time they can swim in the heated pool, play football on the fields at the camp site or play table tennis.
DAY 2
On the second day of camp the kids were divided into groups.
Two groups went on a day hike through the beautiful bohemian Czech mountains, the other groups were involved in team building exercises, water exploring and rock climbing.
Once the sun set, they went on a night hike without torches and just a rope to guide them. Being aware of your surroundings and looking out for one another in an unfamiliar situation and environment is all part of team building and being challenged to develop other skills.
It looks like they are having a lot of fun.

DAY 1
The group started their journey at 7:30am with two trains and a ferry. No delays – everything ran smoothly. When students and staff made it across the river the kids dropped their bags off and then started (what was supposed to be) a two hour hike. 4 hours of hiking and two gondola rides later, they made it to their destination. The kids had lunch and then unpacked their bags. They all LOVE the rooms! A small activity in the form groups was played for the instructors to learn the names of the students. Afterwards they had dinner and then went swimming in the pool that is on site. In the evening they a made a bonfire and roasted marshmallows. All in all, a fun day full of adventure
