Originally from the south east of England, Nicola studied History and English at Oxford University followed by an MA in Medieval Studies at the University of London. Having completed a PGCE at Canterbury Christ Church University, she has worked in a wide range of educational environments, from secondary schools to sixth form colleges and universities, in varied roles, including English teaching, pastoral tutoring, higher education and careers advice, study and enrichment skills, critical thinking and 'gifted and talented' provision. A qualified Careers Advisor, Nicola is part of the Beyond LIS team with a focus on careers education, advice and guidance. She is Academic Learning Leader for the Core programme, teaching the Perspectives, Global Perspectives, Approaches to Learning and Theory of Knowledge courses.
