High School

In the LIS High School from Grade 9 – 12, our students tackle the academically rigorous Cambridge IGCSE and International Baccalaureate Diploma Program, both of which afford our students the opportunity to apply and build on the skills, knowledge and dispositions acquired through our middle school program.

Thinkers, inquirers, communicators

We believe that the best path to success in these demanding, but hugely rewarding and valuable, programs is a student-centred approach to conceptual understanding through a process of guided inquiry, application and reflection. In this endeavour, we guide students to success by meeting them wherever they are on their personal journeys of growth.

We support our students to this end by teaching learning behaviours and skills that enable success not only at LIS but beyond; the IB learner profile is at the heart of what we do and our graduates leave LIS as reflective and knowledgeable thinkers, inquirers and communicators. We are proud to build on our middle school curriculum with subjects such as global perspectives, maths applications and IGCSE physical education in G9 and 10, and business management, economics, psychology, the extended essay and theory of knowledge in G11 and 12.

Balanced, principled, open-minded

Our students tailor their own programs in our upper secondary school with flexibility over subject choices, all counseled and advised with further study, professional aspirations and passions in mind. Through our enrichment programme, GISST sports provision, form time and, in Grades 11 and 12, CAS sessions (creativity, activity, service), our students flesh out their leaner profile by becoming risk-takers who are balanced, principled, caring and open-minded, ready to solve the biggest challenges of our time.
